2013 MTV Video Music Awards Moments (Photos) + Full List Of Winners


All eyes in music and entertainment were focused on Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York for the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday night. The first major award show in the billion dollar arena brought many highlights during the red carpet arrivals, and main show as Lady Gaga kicked off the night by performing her ARTPOP single “Applause.” Miley Cyrus brought sexy twerking ratchet with her Bangerz hit “We Can’t Stop,” before bringing out Robin Thicke, 2 Chainz, and Kendrick Lamar for the “Give It To Me” remix.

Kanye West was the first solo rap act to bless the VMAs stage as he went with a dark blacked out theme for his Yeezus cut “Blood on the Leaves.” Macklemore and Ryan Lewis brought awareness with help from Mary Lambert and Jennifer Hudson on “Same Love,” before Drake brought the fireworks with “Hold On, We’re Going Home” and “Started From the Bottom.” Bruno Mars displayed why he’s one of the best today performing “Gorilla,” as Katy Pery had the honors of closing out the VMAs by taking the boxing ring under the Brooklyn Bridge in “Roar.”
