Drake: “Kendrick Is Not Murdering Me In Any Platform”

Kendrick Lamar jolted hip-hop and it’s mic men when he called out rap’s heavyweights on Big Sean’s “Control.” Many emcees have responded, rebutting the ether filled track their own versions and responses while some lyricists, like Drake, have yet to respond…until now. Drizzy’s “Nothing Was the Same”campaign landed him on the cover of this month’s Billboard magazine where the OVO artist commented on being called out, finding happiness and the forthcoming album that has every on edge waiting for its release.

R. Kelly takes us on a look back at his career in his latest video “My Story.” Although 2 Chainz is featured on R. Kelly’s latest single, he does not make a cameo in the Nineteen 85- produced track. “My Story” is the lead single off of his forthcoming album “Black Panties.”

Rick Ross was flexing his acting chops in Magic City earlier this year, and now he’s back on the small screen alongside Birdman in their new “50 Plates” video. The YMCMB and MMG moguls throw on their ski masks and stick up a Brinks truck......Who says crime doesn't pay?......i'm talking big ones.

Jay Z premiered the video for his hit single “Holy Grail” featuring Justin Timberlake on his official Facebook page. “Holy Grail” is the second single off of Jay’s latest studio album “Magna Carta, Holy Grail.”
The visual was directed by Anthony Mandler and features some trippy effects with a mind-blowing concept.

The Hall Of Fame campaign continues, with Big Sean’s next visual treatment, for the street single “10 2 10″ off the album. Much like Mac Miller’s “Gees,” directors Mike Waxx and Mike Carson give this video some color, as Big Sean screams out the hook through a horn speaker.

Timbaland’s extensive interview with Revolt TV has already revealed some pretty interesting information, like how Nas, Jay Z and Justin Timberlake recorded a song together, but the latest portion might just be the most exciting. Why? Because the super producer revealed that he’s working on a new posthumous Michael Jackson album.

He also promised that he’ll “have it done by this year,” so could a release date be sooner than later? Coincidentally, today would have been MJ’s 55th birthday. R.I.P. to the King of Pop.

'TWERK' Gets Added To Oxford Dictionary

If you were scandalized by Miley Cyrus' performance Sunday at the VMAs, get ready to have your shock codified in the English language, because this whole twerking phenomenon has gone way too far. Not only is Miley Cyrus trying to earn street cred by attempting to do the dance, but now Britain’s Oxford Dictionary has added the word. Yes, twerking is now a legitimate word.

Despite the word being in the urban lexicon for years, Oxford Dictionary didn't decide to add the word until Miley “twerked” all over Robin Thicke’s man muscle at the VMAs this past weekend.
The New York Times reports:

Oscar winner Jaime Foxx has transformed himself from the comedian that everyone loved for dressing in drag to a serious actor with a social conscience. While in Washington, D.C. celebrating the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington, Jamie Foxx took to the podium and shares some thoughts with the crowd.

Foxx told the audience that he and his celebrity peers should pick up the torch of civil rights and they should become the new civil rights leaders. Foxx passionately spoke, “I will tell you right now that everybody my age and all the entertainers, it is time for us to stand up and renew this dream.”

The new single from Pusha T off his forthcoming My Name Is My Name album “Sweet Serenade,” features Chris Brown who comes through with a victorious hook over the haunting production of Swizz Beatz. Arriving on its new release date of October 8, Pusha T’s solo debut will feature appearances from Pharrell, Kendrick Lamar, 2 Chainz, Kanye West, Rick Ross, and more.

After everyone and their mother responded to Kendrick Lamar’s “Control” verse (either on wax or through interviews or Soliloquising), now the good kid himself is taking the time to speak on his own lyrics with Big Boy on Power 106. Kendrick says he didn't know there would be this much speculation when he went into the booth. He just wanted to RAP.

“…I didn't know there would be so much speculation, I just want to rap….I think it’s a case of maybe I should dumb down my lyrics just a little bit. The irony of that line is that the people who actually understood it and got it were the actual Kings of New York, you know, me sitting down with them this past week, and them understanding, it’s not actually about being the king of whatever coast, it’s about leaving a mark as big as BIG, as big as Pac.”

Miley Cyrus is the latest name in hip-hop and it's getting even more interesting, if not controversial. According to All hip-hop, the former Hannah Montana star-turned-ratchet princess will feature on a remix to Kanye West’s Yeezus single, “Black Skinhead.” It was reported that the pair were no where to be found during MTV VMA’s after-parties on Sunday night to hit the studio and record the remix. The track is said to be part of a remix EP that Kanye will release later this year.

As an extra push for his Trials & Tribulations album, which dropped last month, Ace Hood decides to give his Meek Mill-assisted “Before the Rollie” a visual treatment. The WTB and MMG members take it back to the streets, when such ice (and wardrobe malfunctions) were just pipe dreams.

MUSIC: Eminem - Berzerk + Lyrics

After teasing fans about an upcoming album during the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards in two Beats by Dre commercials. “The Marshall Mathers LP 2” is set for release on November 5.
Eminem previewed his first single “Berzerk” in the Beats by Dre commercial. The single was produced by Rick Rubin and features a classic 90s feel. In classic Em style, he throws a few shots at certain celebs including Khloe Kardashian.

Popular rap stable Maybach Music Grouphas finally delivered the information rap fans have been waiting for. The crew released the cover art and tracklist to their upcoming album “Self Made 3.” Due to hit everywhere same date as Drake's album and GTA 5 (September 17th), Self Made 3 features artists who are close to the crew, but not apart of it.

According to 2 Dope Boys, over the past 12 hours, rumors have been swirling that Diddy and J. Cole were involved in a physical altercation at a Circo/Dusse party after the MTV Video Music Awards. Allegedly the two were talking really wild to one another and then started sparring when Cole ended up being escorted out of The Dream Hotel in New York City.

Diddy took to his Twitter account to speak on it.

2013 MTV Video Music Awards Moments (Photos) + Full List Of Winners

All eyes in music and entertainment were focused on Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York for the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday night. The first major award show in the billion dollar arena brought many highlights during the red carpet arrivals, and main show as Lady Gaga kicked off the night by performing her ARTPOP single “Applause.” Miley Cyrus brought sexy twerking ratchet with her Bangerz hit “We Can’t Stop,” before bringing out Robin Thicke, 2 Chainz, and Kendrick Lamar for the “Give It To Me” remix.

Kanye West was the first solo rap act to bless the VMAs stage as he went with a dark blacked out theme for his Yeezus cut “Blood on the Leaves.” Macklemore and Ryan Lewis brought awareness with help from Mary Lambert and Jennifer Hudson on “Same Love,” before Drake brought the fireworks with “Hold On, We’re Going Home” and “Started From the Bottom.” Bruno Mars displayed why he’s one of the best today performing “Gorilla,” as Katy Pery had the honors of closing out the VMAs by taking the boxing ring under the Brooklyn Bridge in “Roar.”

Fat Joe will turn himself in on Monday morning and begin a four-month sentence for tax evasion charges. He is leaving fans with a parting gift to hold them over this fall in The Darkside 3. Joey Crack’s new mixtape features ten new records.

After rocking the 2013 MTV VMAs, 2 Chainz debuts a new record off his B.O.A.T.S. 2: ME Time album. One of the eye-catching features that had many talking when the project’s tracklisting released was the Fergie-featured “Netflix.” Forget the movies, 2 Chainz’s lifestyle is formally on another level.

The sequel to 2000′s The Marshall Mathers LP will be executive produced by long-time mentor Dr. Dre and Rick Rubin, arriving on November 5.

2 Chainz Previews Drake, Lil Wayne-Assisted Single, “I Do It”

2 Chainz is set to get one of his biggest TV looks of all time. Tit is was recently added as another performer at the 2013 MTV VMA awards. Set to broadcast live from the Barclays Arena in Brooklyn, 2 Chainz joins fellow rappers Drake, Kanye, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis as the evening’s hip-hop performers. As a preview, the ATL rapper also released a new commercial for Beats by Dre x Radio Shack in which fans can hear a snippet of his BOATS 2 cut, “I Do It,” featuring Drake and Lil Wayne. Boats 2 drops on Sept. 10.

Kanye West went on his baby mama’s mother’s new talk show to reveal the first real photo of baby North West, during his much anticipated hour-long interview on the Kris Jenner show. Even if you aren't a big fans of Kimye, you have to admit little baby North West and she’s a doll! While Yeezy talked openly about his love for his family and personal issues, Kim’s mom hung on his every word, just like an engagement interview.

To commemorate this joyous occasion, of his new Converse that Foot Locker stores today, Wiz dropped another new song for the Taylors titled “Look What I’ve Got On.”

After “Everyday Birthday” last year, now the Swizz ends the summer off with another club rocker in “Hands Up.”

Swizzy celebrates life on the star-studded party anthem which boasts a lineup of Rick Ross, Nicki Minaj, 2 Chainz, and Lil’ Wayne. What's missing?

Although the jury is still out on if he can claim the King of New York crown, it can’t be denied Kendrick Lamar has had a helluva year in music. Compton’s native son received an astounding 14 BET Hip-Hop Award nominations. With 14 nominations, Kendrick proves he is hip-hop’s new school leader. Some of the people he named in his controversial verse on “Control” will be his competitors in a number of categories.

With 13 nominations, Drake will be scrapping for “Lyricist of the Year” with K. Dot and J. Cole who has 11 nominations. While it’s a good look to be nominated for so many awards, it might be a personal victory for Kendrick that he is nominated up against Jay Z and Nas for “Album of the Year.”

Plenty of popular rappers received a great deal of nominations, but they pale in comparison to Kendrick Lamar. 2 Chainz picked up nine noms. A$AP Rocky racked up eight nominations while Kanye West comes in with four nods.

The BET Hip-Hop Awards will be held on September 28 at the Atlanta Civic Center with Snoop Dogg-Lion serving as the host. If you cannot attend the actual ceremony, you”ll have to wait until October 15th for it to air on BET.

A gift or a curse, the social media with the aid of a camera phone is now helping Nigerians to battle police brutality/extortion.

The policewoman that was caught on tape demanding a bribe of N100 from a commercial bus driver in Lagos has been arrested and awaiting trial.

According to punch, the Lagos State Police Command Public Relations Officer, Ngozi Braide, told Punch correspondent on the telephone that the arrest followed a probe of the video which has been circulating on the social media.

"We have arrested her and she is presently in custody. She will be made to undergo an orderly room trial and the outcome will be made public,'' Braide said.

The standard artwork depicts Drake as a child with a big afro and comb along a clear blue sky, as the deluxe cover is more of a present look with Drizzy’s recent trademark hair part.

After escaping criminal charges for his last run-in with the paparazzi, Kanye actually cracked a smile for TMZ cameras. As the cameraman tried to get answer out of Yeezy, sending his regards to Kim the new dad couldn’t help but just crack a brief smile before hopping into his ride and taking off. Maybe this is the first sign of peace between Ye and the Paparazzi.

Wiz Khalifa blesses fans with a new record. Titled “Look Into My Eyes,” the Taylor Gang soars high on the spacey cut produced by Sledgren. As Wiz stated, the song could possibly appear on his forthcoming Blacc Hollywood album coming soon.

Actor Lee Thompson Young – who played the main character on Disney’s “The Famous Jett Jackson” –was found dead in his Los Angeles home.

Sources tell TMZ that Young’s landlord discovered his body after co-workers on his current show, “Rizzoli and Isles” said he did not show up for work. The 29-year-old was found with a gunshot wound that appeared to be self-inflicted.

Lee Thompson Young started out on the popular Disney show “The Famous Jett Jackson” but went on to appear in several films including “Friday Night Lights,” “Akeelah and the Bee,” and “Redemption: The Stan Tookie Williams Story.”

He most recently played Detective Barry Frost on TNT’s “Rizzoli and Isles.”

Uh Oh! According to TMZ, 50 was in arbitration earlier this year with Sleek Audio a company that 50 claimed Sleek owed him over $261,000. Sleek felt otherwise so the case went to arbitration which is a binding process in which an arbitrator picks the winner. The arbitrator sided with Sleek (the final $$$ judgement was kept under wraps).

But 50 refuses to let the fight go. In fact, he’s going to federal court and claiming the arbitration judge discriminated against him because he’s black, associates with controversial African-American figures and because he’s a high profile rap artist! 50 says the bias ran so deep the judge didn’t allow him to cross-examine witnesses and refused to look at evidence pertaining to the case. 50 wants a do over plain and simple and feels that he can prove the judge had it in for him from jump.

While we look forward to Birdman, Lil Wayne and R. Kelly’s official on-screen reunion in the “We Been On” video, which the trio were busy shooting last weekend, the boss of the YMCMB family grabs Future and Detail for another quick video off the Rich Gangalbum. TWERK ALERT: Amber Rose Twerking in Wedding Dress

Amber Rose let loose a little, on the eve of her wedding to rapper Wiz Khalifa. The former video vixen-model showed off her wedding dress in a fun way by getting down and shaking her assets. In a video posted on Instagram, Rose gets down and twerks in a beautiful all-white gown. “Only bad bitches twerk the night before their wedding,” posted Rose in the headline as her close friends and bridesmaids cheer her on. Amber and Wiz Khalifa will exchange nuptials in a private ceremony in Wiz’s hometown of Pittsburgh on Sunday afternoon.

After getting engaged in March of 2012, the couple waited until the birth of their now 7-month year-old son Sebastian to tie the knot in a proper ceremony.

Thieves-To-Be Arrested After Trying To Rob Restaurant Twice In Same Day

WTFreak! In today’s edition of dumb thief news, two people in Chicago were recently arrested after they tried to rob a restaurant twice in the same day. the interesting part of the story is the first time they tried to rob the establishment, the owner told them to come back when he wasn't busy and the thieves listened! It's really funny right?

Want some juicy details about Drake’s Nothing Was the Same? Of course you do. In their Fall Music Preview List, Rolling Stone report that Drizzy’s massively awaited third album, which is set to arrive September 17, will feature Jay Z, Lil Wayne and G.O.O.D. Music producer Hudson Mohawke. Drake and Hov were snapped in the studio together back in May, let’s not forget.

In the midst of the “Control” drama, Big Sean delivers the official music video for his current single, “Beware.” Weezy and Jhene Aiko lend their assistance as the computer graphics make this one into a real visual experience. It’s not quite seizure inducing, but it’s a bit trippy. Pre-order Hall of Fame on iTunes before it’s released on August 27.

Future leads a New York star-studded cast on "Rich Friday." Nicki Minaj, French Montana, and Juelz Santana adds verses on The Turn Up Team-produced cut. Barbz will enjoy as Nicki comes through firing with a fast-paced flow on Future’s latest track.

Beyonce showed off her new and shorter hairdo during some family time out in Miami on Thursday afternoon. Queen Bey was spotted with husband Jay-Z and their daughter Blue Ivy leaving Sylvano’s in Miami Beach. Wearing a cut-off top saying “NAME BRAND” and denim shorts, Bey showed off her shorter blonde hair as they were escorted out the Italian restaurant by security.
